Resigned from the post of Law Minister
In order to give women equal status with men in society, he proposed to pass a bill in which daughters were proposed to have equal rights as sons on their father’s property. This bill is called Hindu Code Bill.
In this bill, it was discussed to eliminate the importance of caste in marriage, to pass rules for divorce and rules for adoption, but their bill was not approved to be passed in the cabinet. Due to this bill not being passed, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar resigned from the post of Law Minister in 1951.
